Clinical Officer Optometry
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct eye examinations and vision assessments.
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions within scope of practice.
- Prescribe corrective lenses where authorized.
- Identify and refer patients requiring specialist eye care.
- Educate patients on eye health and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of optometry equipment.
- Participate in eye screening and outreach activities.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
- Comply with hospital policies, professional standards, and infection prevention procedures
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery with relevant training/specialization in Optometry/Ophthalmology from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and practicing license with the relevant professional regulatory body.
- More than 3 years experience in an eye clinic or hospital setting
- Good communication, interpersonal, clinical assessment and patient-care skills
