Senior Associate, Portfolio Administrator

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the team’s day-to-day operations, tracks progress towards goals, and reports results to management
  • Ensuring overall scheme compliance in line with the regulatory requirements, risk management and internal audit
  • Ensuring that service level agreements and deed of adherence for all employers are executed and filed respectively with the regulator
  • Ensuring compliance with the Trust Deed & Rules, regulatory requirements as laid down by regulatory bodies including Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), Kenya Revenue Authority (Income Tax), Capital Markets Authority (CMA), Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) and self-regulating bodies such as Association of Retirement Benefits Schemes (ARBS).
  • Coordinating with the client and scheme service providers (Trustee, fund managers, actuary and auditors) to ensure smooth and timely processing of tasks
  • Ensure accurate and complete member records are in place.
  • Validating and processing contributions from the sponsor
  • Ensuring that statements to members are done and dispatched promptly as laid down in the SLA.
  • Ensuring that computations of members’ withdrawal benefits are done correctly and timely
  • Tracking participating employers with outstanding contribution on month to month basis
  • Ensure timely quarterly submission of accurate reports to the regulator, the RBA.
  • Calculating Individual transfer and total surrender values of scheme winding up.
  • Liaising with auditors and other service providers for smooth audit.
  • May be required to attend Management Committee meetings on administration issues.
  • Constantly review and recommend systems and processes enhancements / development.
  • Ensuring that enquiries from intermediaries and clients are addressed fully and promptly
  • Assisting in preparation of management report for the monthly meetings.
  • Executing any other duties, which may be assigned from time to time.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline from a reputable university.
  • Professional qualification(s) in Finance e.g. CPA (K), ACCA or equivalent is considered added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least Six (6) years’ experience in retirement benefits/schemes administration.
