Clinical Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient consultations, examinations, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Prescribe and administer appropriate medications and therapies.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses within the scope of practice.
- Provide health education and preventive care services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Coordinate referrals for specialized care when necessary.
- Participate in health promotion and wellness programs for staff and students.
- Ensure compliance with clinical standards, infection prevention protocols, and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the dispensary.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized University.
- Registered and licensed by the Clinical Officers Council with a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in an outpatient or dispensary setting is an added advantage.
- Strong diagnostic and patient management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with electronic medical records will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and patient confidentiality
