Program Officer (Kwale)
What You’ll Do:
Program Leadership & Implementation Oversight
- Coordinate, supervise, and lead the implementation of PROMPTS and Mentorship program activities in the allocated counties, ensuring alignment with key performance indicators and program deliverables.
- Support priority facilities by working closely with in-facility mentors and PROMPTS contact staff to strengthen program performance and compliance with the Data Protection Act.
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in county joint Mentorship and PROMPTS performance review meetings and maintain regular communication and reporting with county stakeholders.
- Coordinate facility and community-based PROMPTS enrollment activities to increase ANC coverage and secure enrollment of mothers in the counties.
Technical & Digital Health Support
- Support in-facility mentors to run CME and simulation drill activities as well as PROMPTS contact person to create awareness and enrollment of mums to the digital SMS platform.
- Support and co-ordinate efficient EmONC coaching activities by ensuring all necessary tools and simulation materials are available.
- Manage various PROMPTS tools through continuous updates and improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement & System Coordination
- Build and manage relationships with County, sub county and Health Facility teams(Including county RH, MNH and QI teams) to ensure smooth running of the programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve the overall performance of the program.
Data-Driven Decision Making, Performance Management & Problem Solving
- Prepare and share monthly reports with the regional program coordinator and Health Facilities
- Coordinate and follow up on the sharing and utilization of the PULSE dashboard across facilities and county management teams, including at facility, sub-county, and county levels.
- Communicate County challenges and/or opportunities with considered context-specific solutions/interventions to the program coordinator.
What You Bring
Skills and Competencies:
- Diploma in Nursing/Clinical medicine.
- Added advantages: Health systems management or Public Health programs experience and/or EmONC knowledge & skills.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in implementing maternal and newborn health programs within the public health system.
- Coaching, mentorship, facilitation, and people management skils.
- Strong communication, coordination, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in culturally diverse environments.
- Tech-savvy, proficient in MS Office and G-Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Google Sheets).
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- High integrity, reliability, and professionalism, with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
