The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited is incorporated in Kenya under the Company Act and is also licensed to do the business of banking under the Banking Act.

The Bank was initially registered under the Co-operative Societies Act at the point of founding in 1965. This status was retained up to and until June 27th 2008 when the Bank’s Special General Meeting resolved to incorporate under the Companies Act with a view to complying with the requirements for listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

The Bank went public and was listed on December 22nd 2008.

Shares previously held by the 3,805 Co-operative Societies and unions were ring-fenced under Coop Holdings Co-operative Society Limited which became the strategic investor in the Bank with a 64.56% stake.

Product Manager – AI Enablement

The Role

Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

  • Define and drive the Bank’s AI enablement roadmap, priorities, pilots, and portfolio initiatives aligned to business strategy, customer needs, value realization, and delivery readiness.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize AI and analytics opportunities based on business impact, feasibility, customer value, adoption potential, and strategic fit.
  • Lead initiative planning, backlog prioritization, stakeholder alignment, governance coordination, performance tracking, and executive reporting across AI programmes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI solutions are secure, governed, operationally ready, scalable, and aligned to business objectives.
  • Support launch readiness, adoption, change management, benefits realization, and continuous improvement across AI-enabled initiatives.
  • Ensure all AI initiatives comply with governance, security, privacy, audit, regulatory, and risk management requirements through proper controls, documentation, and oversight.

Skills, Competencies and Experience

The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Economics, Statistics, Product Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Product Management, Agile, Product Ownership, Project Management, Digital Transformation, or AI Product Management will be an added advantage.
  • Exposure or training in AI, analytics, automation, innovation management, customer experience, or data governance will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Product Management, Digital Delivery, Innovation, Transformation, Business Technology, or Analytics-Enabled Initiatives.
  • Strong product management capability with experience in roadmap development, prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and value realization.
  • Good understanding of digital delivery, customer journeys, process transformation, adoption management, and technology-enabled business change.
  • Strong analytical, communication, influencing, facilitation, and decision-making capability.
  • Ability to translate complex AI and technology concepts into clear business value propositions for diverse stakeholders.
