The volume of business generated since the current management took over from 1975 has continued to grow steadily. At the time of acquisition by the current management the company purely traded in Pharmaceuticals in Kisumu (western Kenya) as a Wholesale Dispensing Chemist which is still functional.

Medical Sales Representative – IVD

In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for serving as the primary liaison between the company and healthcare professionals within its assigned territory. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting, positioning and driving the sales of medical equipment and consumables, while strengthening the company's market presence across the region. The role also involves building and maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, achieving sales targets, and ensuring all sales and promotional activities are conducted in accordance with the company's policies, industry standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales and Territory Management: Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve sales targets for medical equipment and consumables while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Maintain and grow customer accounts through regular visits, effective pipeline management, timely follow-up, and responsive account management to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Product Promotion & Clinical Presentation: Promote the company's portfolio of medical equipment and consumables through professional product demonstrations, clinical presentations and educational sessions for healthcare professionals.
  • Market intelligence and Reporting: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer needs and emerging healthcare developments to identify new business opportunities and recommend appropriate sales strategies. Gather and share market intelligence to support business planning, product positioning and portfolio growth. Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, forecasts and opportunity pipelines in the CRM system, and submit timely sales reports that support performance tracking and informed decision-making by the Management.

 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Health Sciences (Microbiology, Medical Lab or a lab science).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business  Administration or Marketing, combined with life sciences experience will be an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience in healthcare practices or/and medical sales promotion.
  • Clinical knowledge: confirmable understanding of the lab procedures, test profile and the products relation to them.
  • Products knowledge: demonstrable acumen of a laboratory set up, brands positioning and target markets.
  • Communication: persuasive speaking and active listening abilities.
  • Resilience: high emotional intelligence to handle daily rejection and create business relationships.
  • Mobility: willingness to travel extensively.
  • Reporting: knowledgeable to Office, Data Analysis and CRM platforms.
  • Notable brands interaction with provable history over them.
  • At least two or more territorial knowledge with verifiable coverage in the area.
