Maseno University founded in 1991, is the only university on the globe that lies along the Equator (00). It is one of the seven public universities in Kenya. The University is located in Maseno Township along Kisumu-Busia road, 25 km from Kisumu City and approximately 400 km west of Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. The University also shares its boundaries with Vihiga and Kisumu County.

Lecturer – Grade Twelve (12) (Medical Virology)

Requirements for Appointment:

  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Medical Virology or relevant field from a recognized and accredited university;
  • A Master’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized and accredited university;
  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree with strong background in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from a recognized institution;
  • A minimum of Twenty-Four (24) publication points, at least Sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers; and
  • Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

The Terms of service for these positions will be Permanent and Pensionable subject to Retirements Benefits Authority Regulations Terms EXCEPT for the position of General Manager, Grade KH 13 and Instructor, Grade Eleven (11) will be on a Three (3) Years Contract Terms renewable based on satisfactory performance
