Lecturer - Broadcast Media

Job requirements

  • Earned PhD in Media Studies or related area (or a Master's degree in relevant area in exceptional cases with experience) from an accredited University.
  • At least three (3) years teaching experience at university level or in research.
  • Registered with the relevant professional body.
  • A minimum of 24 publication points, of which at least 16 points should be from referred journal papers
  • Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.
  • Evidence of active participation in school/departmental activities or demonstrated leadership in university activities
  • Demonstration of teaching abilities in specific areas of Radio Production, Programme Scripting, Digital and Analog Studio Operations, and General Broadcast Journalism Practice

Job responsibilities

  • Conducting quality research to enhance the scholarship, visibility and intellectual contribution of the University.
  • Engaging in curriculum and program review and development.
  • Ensuring consistent Christian behavior in line with the University's vision.
  • Evaluating students through continuous assessments and examinations.
  • Implementing change initiatives to achieve desired university strategic goals.
  • Mentoring of students in academic and spiritual nurture.
  • Mobilizing resources and building bridges with industry.
  • Teaching and training of students in line with university policies, processes and procedures.
