Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust (RWMT) is a charitable organization that works to empower communities to create positive change in Rarieda sub-County, a rural area of Siaya County in the Western part of Kenya along the banks of Lake Victoria.

Siaya County belongs to Kenya’s 5 most rural counties in the country with nearly 60% of the population living below the poverty line.

Rafiki is located in Rarieda’s Central Uyoma Location amid 35 villages which are home to nearly 15,000 people. Only 18% of the population have a high school diploma.
