Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant, G5 (UN Kenya Common Roster - Multiple Positions & Duty Stations)

Responsibilities

 

The Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant will perform the following:

Main Duties (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

Support programme and project managers in designing and implementation of the Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks and plans, in line with Programme and Operations Policies and Procedures with appropriate tracking tools.

Provide input to the preparation of annual work plans and budgets and participate in defining targets and indicators to ensure consistency with approved country programme and project documents.

Support the mapping of business processes and elaboration of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in programme and project oversight.

Assist in the development of a consolidated reporting system with designated sections for each project and preparation of regular progress reports on activities undertaken, results achieved against targets and plan for follow up actions. 

Support Project Quality Assurance documentation, risk assessment, and any other required templates and documentation.

Assist project teams in conducting project steering committee, working group and other meetings through organization of meeting, and recording of minutes.

Identify and document success stories, achievements and lessons learned and ensure continuous knowledge sharing across project offices.

Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.

Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Completion of secondary education or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in social sciences, Business Administration, Project Management or any other related field is desirable

Job - Specific Qualification

Relevant training in Project/Programme Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Business Administration or other related areas is desirable.

Work Experience

A minimum of Five (5) years of progressive experience in assisting project planning and reporting is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) years for candidates who possess a first level University degree. Experience working with Microsoft Office applications is required. Experience in using integrated information management systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is desirable. One (1) year of work experience within the United Nations or similar international organization is desirable. One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
